The Summer Festival Committee is pleased to welcome back Lost Cause for a 2nd year to The Stage at Kindleberger! Parchment’s own Lost Cause will kick off the Rock The Park! Concert Event on Festival Saturday at 11am! This hometown rock group features Parchment High School students Alex Gibson, guitarist and lead vocals, Evan Dexter on drums, & Doug Jury, bass guitarist, playing original songs! Their music spans the rock genre, from songs with a punk feel to alternative rock and edgy contemporary pop. Lost Cause began with a school talent show in '08 and they haven't looked back, playing a variety of music along the way-including covers of The Animals, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, The White Stripes, and Franz Ferdinand. Their youthful energy has also been directed into a number of original compositions. You can look forward to some good music, and a good time! www.facebook.com/lostcause.

Please Promise will follow at noon! In February of 2008, Please Promise hit the music scene harder and with more energy than anyone expected from this young local band hailing from Kalamazoo, MI. From their love of playing music, writing music, and going to shows, the boys pull from influences such as Relient K, Four Year Strong, New Found Glory, and Dashboard Confessional. Please Promise constantly strives for musical perfection, and always delivers an emotional and energy driven live show. Please Promise features Josh Pruis (drums and effects), Jeremy Pruis (bass guitar and vocals), and AJ Pruis (guitar and lead vocals). The three brothers find their inspiration for their music from the people they meet, the people they love, and the peace, hope, and love they find through Jesus Christ. Please Promise released their debut album, "Run.Run." in Spring 2009. Read more about this young group at http://www.myspace.com/pleasepromise or www.facebook.com/pleasepromise. |

DUNKTANK takes The Stage at 1 pm! This group of local music veterans began to take shape three years ago when Mike Hallam, aka Ca$h (Lead Vocals, Acoustic guitar), returned to Kalamazoo from Arizona, where he hooked up with friends Jamie Denison (Bass, backing vocals) and Rob Seth (Lead guitar), with thoughts of forming a band. They made a list of 48 cover songs- material from Tool, Alice in Chains, Judas Priest and Seether, among others – and started jamming to reacquaint themselves with each other musically. They went to work writing tracks in Seth’s basement studio dubbed “The Seth Lab”. The band considers their style of music as “melodic, groovy hard rock”, Denison described. “We like it to be heavy enough for the guys and groovy enough for the girls”. He explains exactly where DUNKTANK falls in the range of rock music – somewhere between the Goo Goo Dolls and a Swedish death-metal group. The group recently welcomed its newest member, Jon Silman, drummer extraordinaire. Dunktank released its first CD, self-titled DUNKTANK, in 2009. www.myspace.com/DUNKTANKBAND.

We Know Jackson returns to The Stage for an encore, performing a Rock the Park! finale beginning at 2pm! What do you get when you combine three Western Michigan University-trained musicians with more than 45 years of combined musical experience? You get the refreshing sound of the pop/rock band, We Know Jackson. With fast fingers and a velvet voice is Chris Janowiak on keyboards and lead vocals. Providing the low-end foundation on the electric bass is Isaac Hansen. Layin’ down the beats behind the drum kit is Hayes Greer. Both Isaac and Hayes add a sound unmatched by any other group with their clever backing vocals. Chris and Isaac formed WKJ in January 2007 and followed with the addition of Hayes in 2010. Since its formation, the guys have been writing and recording original music as well as playing shows relentlessly to promote their self-titled album. Although classified as a pop/rock band, the influences heard in We Know Jackson’s music range from Stevie Wonder to Phish, Miles Davis to Hanson, Jon McLaughlin to Jason Mraz, and everything in between. Due to this eclectic blend of influences, there is always a fresh and exciting spontaneity to their music. You may be asking yourself, “who’s Jackson?”. Come experience a WKJ show and you and your friends will be able to say, “We Know Jackson!” www.myspace.com/weknowjackson!
